Great Revenge Girl Great Personality ebook

Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality is a great contemporary young adult novel with a strong voice.
Lexi is the girl next door. Everybody likes her for her great personality, but she's tired of sitting on the sidelines. And she's tired of playing second fiddle to her bratty little sister, Mackenzie. Unfortunately, Mac's beauty pageant needs come first to the point that Lexi's mother struggles to even pay the bills.
After her friend Benny issues a challenge, Lexi puts on makeup for the first time and wears clothes that show off her curves instead of her hiding them. It doesn't take long for Lexi to get noticed by some of the boys. If only hottie Logan would dump his pageant winning girlfriend for Lexi, then her life would be almost perfect. At least it would be a step in the right direction.
Lexi's transformation is subtle in its transparency. She never truly loses herself from the wallflower that she once was to the popular girl she thinks she needs to become, but she does change throughout the novel as she comes into her own. She's realistic in what she needs, and in what she wants.
Lexi's family life is intense and dramatic without losing any realism. This is a great coming of age novel that can be devoured in one sitting.
Recommendation: Fans of Kody Keplinger and Carolyn Mackler's "The Eart h, My Butt, and Other Round Things" should pick this up.
