Ok, first of all, this review is from the perspective of someone using it for a costume helmet. That being said, I gladly give this shield 5 stars. It's extremely durable, just the right thickness, and a perfect shade for indoor trooping as well as outdoors. I am able to see well outside at night via street lamps. Depending on the size of your visor area, you might even be able to get two visors out of this as it's fairly wide. It comes with a protective film on both sides that stays on really well through the cutting stage .
One note about heat bending. If you're going to try and heat bend this shield, be fore-warned that it will take allot of heat. The plastic is a very resilient type that acts much like a tempered piece of steel in that you can heat it to a high temp while holding it in a bent shape, allow to cool while holding it bent, and then when you let it go after it cools, you will see that it returns almost to completely flat. If you plan on doing this repeatedly to try and achieve a permanent bend, you definitely want to remove the protective film first. I tried for a few heat/cool sessions and only ended up with a slight curve but the protective film basically laminated to the shield making it very hard to remove.
After a few attempts at heat bending, I ended up adopting an installation method where i create tabs on the inside of the helmet for the visor to slide underneath. The advantage of this is that the tension of the visor trying to be flat holds it firmly under the tabs greatly reducing the need for tons of glue.
