You need To Check this Coffee and Cockpits ebook
Nina Poppins has a lot of secrets, or at least she'd like to think so. As a newly minted flight attendant with big (secret) dreams of moving up to the cockpit, she's determined to put her career first and romance later, but that won't stop her from spending her evenings heating up the dance floor with her sexy salsa moves (another thing she'd like to keep a secret). But, it's hard to keep anything from Liam Mikin, a co-pilot with a reputation for flashing his blue eyes, and getting any woman he wants. Except, there's only one woman he really wants...
On a flight to Samoa, a technical malfunction forces them to make an emergency landing and strands the crew in paradise. Liam only has a few days to win Nina over, but when she's making salsa moves with engineer Nickolai Rivers, that could be more complicated than planned.
I'm not usually a straight contemporary romance kind of girl, but I knew from Ocean Kills, that I love Jade's writing style and I knew there'd be some good twists to the story (plus, I was itching for a good break from reality). From the moment I picked up this novel, I didn't want to leave-it was my own weekend getaway to Samoa with loads of drama and sexual tension. It's everywhere! Nina with her corsets under her uniform, her and Nickolai's grindy smexy salsa moves. And, Nickolai might be the one with those salsa moves but Liam...he's got quite a few tricks of his own hidden behind that confident pilot facade.
"Revving the engine so the machine vibrated between my legs, he engaged a gear, and we shot from the parking lot.
I squeaked, almost toppling off the back. My arms whipped around his waist, cinching myself tight against his hard, warm body."
COFFEE and COCKPITS, Jade Hart. Kindle Edition.
Smart boy. I'll take wooing via scooter over the salsa any day.
Within a couple of chapters, I'd developed an emotional connection with these characters. What I love about Jade's books is that they don't seem like books with characters and plots that were written by an author who is behind the scenes pulling all of the strings. The characters Jade creates are real enough to pop out of the book at any minute walk though my door and carry on a conversation (and sometimes I wish they would). While I didn't like all of their decisions, they made sense.
Coffee and Cockpits has some major surprises and a huge twist, but every surprise is set up in such a way that everything just clicked into place like magic. In the end you'll understand and appreciate all of the subtle hints that have been leading the way.

All I have to say about this book is 'wow!'. The story line, characters and emotions in this book are so well crafted. What looks to be a hot romantic comedy, is that, but also so much more. I'm usually not one for reading just straight romance but this one did not disappoint me in the least. Loved this book.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first review I've ever done for Amazon because this book was so good. I don't want to give anything away, but if you have the chance, you must read this. It will totally blow you away.
ReplyDeleteWow what a wonderful read ! Had no clue what was comin ! A big twist at the end that had me in awe! And also had a great love story! It was so romantic ! A Must read :)
ReplyDeleteSo super cute and sexy! Hot, hot, hot. And what an amazing love story. Coffee and Cockpits is beautifully written with such amazing descriptions I felt I was there in Nina's shoes dancing some hot salsa, and then right there with Liam as he desperately tries to win the girl he's loved for a year. This romance has action, heat, and a twist that'll make your jaw drop. Amazingly told with characters that you won't be able to forget. Well done, Ms. Hart ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a refreshing story. ABSOLUTELY a terrific story and the characters were played. I like the idea of the twist and turns of this book. It kept me guessing and loved the whole story growing at the same time. Loved the book and plan to read more about this author
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to escape from the chaos of my everyday life and jump into this amazing story. Hot and sexy romance with a great twist. I love a book where I can't guess every little thing that is going to happen - and that's hard to do in a romance.
ReplyDeleteThis book is like taking a vacation without having to leave to comfort of your reading nook.
I loved the characters in this book. They're story is hot and steamy but also I really felt their deep connection. The setting comes to life with Hart's wonderful descriptions. And watch out for the twist at the end. It'll take you by surprise but pretty much made this book for me. LOVE!
ReplyDeleteThis book was provided to me in return for an honest review.
ReplyDeleteThis book will blow your freaking mind!! I couldn't believe the route this book takes! It completely jumped the tracks from the usual romance with the angsty drama and love triangle. It is a must read!
The book centers on our main character Nina Poppins who has big dreams of earning her wings as a commercial pilot. She is a strong-willed, take charge type of young woman who has every aspect of her life on a controlled time line. She has been disowned by her father for her career path so that pushes her even harder to succeed. To fill the time and her wallet while working on her pilots license (which is a secret) she has taken a job as an flight attendant, and this is where the story begins.
About to embark on her maiden flight and final exam as a flight attendant, we get a glimpse of the tightly controlled life Nina has laid out for herself. Enter the supporting characters. Jos is one of her best friends and encourages Nina to step outside her tightly controlled life plan and have a little fun....which opens the door to Liam the co-captain. He is seen by Nina as a "man slut" and is completely off limits to her path despite Nina finding herself inexplicably attracted to him. Samantha and Captain Anderson play smaller but important roles in the story.
Now I'm not going to add spoilers into this review because I refuse to give away any of the mind bending twists and turns in this book, but believe me when I say it will be an emotional rollercoaster that you will not want to get off of. Ms. Hart is a fantastic author with the most imaginative mind I have ever seen. I first read her book "Ocean Kills" and was blown away by the fantastic story line. She has a wonderful way of world building where your minds eye has you walking right along with the main character, seeing and feeling everything they do without over doing it and losing my interest with to many details. The interactions between characters flows and is realistic. I cant stress more what a talented author Jade is. Cant wait to DEVOUR future works of Ms. Hart!!!!!
This is the second book I've read this year that I've got to say is a must read. It was a fabulously long book, but every part of it was needed and wanted. I found myself in awe as reality sunk in for both of the characters.
ReplyDeleteThis book is in three sections. First, Pre-crash, we learn about Nina Poppins and Liam Mikin, a first-time airline attendant and co-pilot of a commercial airplane. Nina has secrets that she didn't think anyone else knew, but so does Liam...like having a crush on her for almost a year. He watched as she accomplished major things in her life, one of which was getting her PPL (her personal pilots license). When she brings him a coffee and guesses right the first time how he likes his coffee, he knows it's destiny that they get together.
The next section is Post-crash and they crash on a Samoan island. They get off the plane, no one is majorally injured, but since the airline wouldn't be able to get another airplane to them for six days, it was like a mini-vacation for the rest of the crew. It's the time for Liam to make his move on Nina.
But all is not that they thought. The next section is called Reality...what really happened. I can't go any further, because what happened after the crash will leave you in awe.
I loved this story...a story of new love, of heartbreak and of a medical miracle between two people so close, even though they just met. You'll be crying in this section, wanting so desperately for everything to work out. Anyone who can't believe in the power of the mind and body, and who gives this book a one star review, didn't read the book and doesn't believe in miracles.
I whole-heartedly give this book 5 stars! I'd give more if I could!!
