Great Arabesque Dig John Klemmer

This was one of the first jazz LPs I bought and to this day it is one of my all time favourites. I can still remember going to a record fair about 20-25 years ago and pulling out Bob James' Heads LP (along with some Stevie Wonder 70s LPs) and this one because I was crazy about Fender Rhodes and from the liner notes it seemed these LPs would be full of nice rhodes solos. Actually, this has a mix of rhodes and acoustic piano solos from the likes of Pat Rebillot, Roger Kellaway and Victor Feldman. They are absolutely fantastic, melodic and classy. Great tunes all round. I listened to it again recently for the first time in years and it still sounds great encouraging me to try and work out these pieces for piano.
John Klemmer was well known in the UK for the track latin jazz dance scene in London for "Brazilia" (a fantastic tune) which was on the LP after this, but for me this is a far superior LP full of incredibly cool playing from John, Abraham Laboriel, Lenny White, Airto Moreira, Alex Acuna, Oscar Castro Neves, simply the top names in their field at the time. Also great string arrangements. Highly recommended by me!
