I'm Happy after buyingThis Ricky Rudd Collectables Havoline Anniversary
Didn't know much about these Nascar Muppet themed vehicles when I bought them. They are quite expensive to obtain these days but I came across a couple that were cheap enough to give a go on an online auction site. I had originally planned on getting the vehicles that came with the bonus large bonnet (hood) since the cars look the same inside the different blister packs, but since I was buying other cars the postage price by adding this Gonzo one from the packaging you can see in the product image was no different so I thought why not. I also bought another car that did come with the bonus bonnet and there actually is a huge difference. The bonnet car packaging versions are more of your traditional Hot Wheels/Matchbox style car. The ones like this Gonzo one are the same size but come apart . By that I mean the base separates from the chassis I think it is called (the metal body). This allows you to see the motor, the roll cage and other stuff inside the vehicle. The bonnet also opens. It does sort of stay together if you click it together properly unless you pull it apart but I guess it would be easier to crush the car body when it is unattached if a child was playing with it and stepped on it or something like that. But overall the car that comes apart is a more durable car than the other packaging one. It is heavier and the wheels roll a lot smoother. It has better wheels too. If you have the choice I'd definitely get the version that comes in the packaging without the large bonus bonnet.
Onto the art work you get Gonzo in a cape and superhero outfit on the bonnet. He also appears on the left hand side near the rear wheel wearing a 60s style on stage host jacket. The other side of the car has a different image of him wearing a different superhero costume . The car is a bit cluttered with other stuff. For example you've also got the number 28 prominently displayed on the roof and doors. Words such as Havoline and XpressLube take up a lot of the car's space, there's also a fair few other logos of car product manufacturers I guess, they're not very clear but take up the space on the sides in front of the doors. The wheels have Goodyear written on them. The Muppet Show logo is also on the bonnet.
What I like about this Nascar series of die-cast vehicles, is that they included a number of characters in their range of vehicles which aren't the usual ones used in merchandise, although they can be found too.
