I love LightInTheBox Function Temperature Sensitive Rainfall
Wonderful-Fun-Simple to Install Showerhead. If your tired of scalding yourself or freezing under a shower of cold water, nevermore. This baby changes from flashing blue for ice cold to blue for cold to purple for warm to red for a nice hot shower and blinking red for scalding hot (sometimes I like it HOT). As to install, if you can screw in a water hose than your can do this. It wouldn't hurt if you have no knowledge of plumbing to ask someone in that section of your local home improvement retailer for little tips and tidbits but essentially it's thredded so you can't really screw it up. Recommend a extension shower rod as a co-purchase so that the "rain head" is "raining down on you". Unless you have immaculate pressure than adding it to the normal wall rod won't spray the water far enough. I got a 13 inch extension rod on here with two 45 degree angles, thus bringing it straight out the wall up to a height over 6 feet and then angling back down. Very Pleased.... Have had for 3 months. Danze D481116 13-Inch S-Shape Shower Arm, Chrome-Oh FYI one more thing... Yes this shower is a little noisier than a normal showerhead. That's cause it needs to spin to create the electricity for the LED's....Better than changing batteries in my opinion. Lastly some people report flashing or strobing, that's due to extreme low pressure. IE-Not enough to fully spin the motor that makes the lights come on, or its someone used to scalding hot showers and as such it's only going to flash Red. You get what you pay for and this is DIRT CHEAP for what you get. Its not a fancy, pricey brand, but it works great. Most of these people with negative reviews are idiots. Ask a plumber and they would say the same. I am not a plumber or affiliated with a this company, just a do-it-yourself, "home improvement" person. I do have experience in sales of showerheads at a Home Depot as I was a Kitchen Designer for a few years.

I received the head and installed it easily. The color starts at a blue (cold) and when the faucet is turned to a warmer setting, it turns green. I would recommend getting a 9 inch shower arm (2-1/2 inch diameter flange that fits all standard 1/2 inch pipe threads that will accommodate the 8 inch square shower head). I did not find a problem with the "sound" that other people discussed when the shower is used.
ReplyDeleteThis product is great!!!! Connected easily to my shower arm. I have no problem at all. The motor is barely noticeable. Lights are great but the best thing is the spray-fine but very hard spray even with water barely on so wont use a lot of water! I rinsed my hair in half the time. And besides forceful spray the whole shower head is covered with holes so the spray is very large. Honestly the BEST SHOWER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! Only problem is-I DONT WANT TO GET OUT OF THE SHOWER!!!!!!!!!!! I would love it even without the lights!
ReplyDeleteWe had to go to the local hardware store to get an adjustable shower arm so we could install this as the
ReplyDeletepipe has to be at a 90 degree angle in order for the shower head to be "over the middle of the tub" straight
down. We could have ordered it from Amazon but we weren't sure what was included till it arrived. We wanted to install it right away.
So when I was at the large "depot" hardware store, there was one like it (but doesn't change water colors) for $112, twice as much as this one.
Other than getting that adjustable shower arm at the store, it was easy to install using the white tape around
each pipe area etc.
We only had the water on for a few minutes and only saw the green color coming from a few of the shower
head area. I still don't understand how it changes color but it does.
WAY COOL!
Sharp looking, makes a whistling noise that can annoy some people but works great. Just pull out of the box, uncrew current showerhead and screw new shower head...
ReplyDeleteThis shower head works excellent, great pressure in conjunction with another regular head. The colors work great and change per the tempurature. Blue for cold, Green for Warm, and Red for Hot. Im not sure but I think it also does violet for scalding hot, but my shower doesnt get that hot so I havnt seen it.
ReplyDeleteBelow is a guide for those who are considering purchase.
Be prepared to figure out how you are going to get enough pressure to this head if you are installing dual heads, they need to be at about the same height to get equal pressure, what I did was mount the head splitter out of the wall at 7 feet high, the rainfall goes straight out through a 1 foot galvanized which I elbowed with a female to male 1/2 inch 90 degree junction The other head came out through a hose on the head splitter and was mounted to an adjustable bar.
If you are mounting this alone, it would help you to figure out where you want to mount the head for ease of use before doing the plumbing and then purcahse a shower arm that will work for you.
Or you can rig a shower arm out of galvanized pipe like I did, but if you do that, make sure to have some kind of support for the weight pulling at the plumbing in the wall.
Once you figure out how to mount this head, you will be very happy.

ReplyDeleteexactly what i saw in the ad, good quality, very recommended! great for the price... dont hesitate, just order it!
ReplyDeleteThis product works just fine I got 5 of them for a outdoor shower setup. It blows my mind that people have the issues that have with them. If this is somehow difficult I would say hire a someone to install it in 3 mins. I found the adapter at lowes for 1$. As far as noise yes its not silent, its not meant to be if it was it was you would have to wire it to power. Its not loud at all even inside were I tested them all at. Great product cheap price and it shipped fast.
