This is a nice looking statue, which is apparently a knock-off of the real prototypes that were made for Michael's History album. Only a few authentic, 14k gold plated statues were made for Michael, and we were lucky enough to get our paws on one of our very own!! It's nothing short of stunning.
Unlike this knock-off being sold here, the proportions of the real prototypes are spot on. Just check out the video and compare it to the likeness of what's being offered here. The pictures of the statue being sold here just hasn't captured Michael's essence quite the same way as the authentic 14k gold prototypes. The statue in our video looks like Michael -- the proportions, his face, posture, his presence -- it's Michael to a T.
A veritable Golden Idol
We put our statue on a marble base and got some mini LED footlights pointed right at it. The gold glistens and sparkles like a true lost treasure. It's about 10" tall and weighs over 3 pounds! The statue is heavy pewter, and plated in 14k gold. It looks like an Oscar, but MJ style. I'll take this over an Acaemy Award any day!!
Striking Pose - Iconic Silhouettes
There are several pictures of Michael striking this exact pose in concert; wearing this same costume , with the same posture and attitude -- a presence that exudes 'King.' It's almost as if they created this statue just so Michael could see what he'd look like on stage . No one creates silhouettes like Michael; ones that are unmistakenly 'his.'
A True Collectible
This statue is a prized addition to our decor and MJ collection. Words just don't do it justice. It's a true centerpiece; striking, iconic and mesmeric in beauty and stature. We feel a little like Gollum from Lord of the Rings, admiring our little preeeeeeeciousssssss and coveting it's beauty! LOVE this statue!!! LOVE Michael.
Bottom Line -- the statue offered for sale here isn't near the same caliber of the authentic prototypes, but it's still quite nice. It doesn't glisten like real gold, and there's no mention of what it's made of. But it would still make a great collectible for any MJ fan. We just wanted to share what little we knew about these statues, along with a video of our authentic History statue these replicas appear to be based on.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great cap cannot stand things that are really tight on my head this cap has enough give in the elastic so it is not so tight.Also first one that I have found that came in sizes and not just one size fit all.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, I purchased this for the final touches of my Team Rocket uniform to cosplay in. It feels good, isn't heavy, and is in no way restricting. I would say the sizes might run a tad big though. If the hat is too big you get a train conductor look, which is not the desired outcome.

ReplyDeleteCap is terrific. I wear a XL (7-1/2) and usually experience a cap being to small no matter manufacture calls it. This cap fits fine and barely engages the elastic. Design is really sharp and being of cotton should be fine for summer wearing. I like it so well will get a wool one for colder times. Highly recommended and I have no relation with manufacture.
ReplyDeleteI could never find a newsboy cap to fit my head in the stores and decided to look online and fortunately started with Amazon and found the perfect fitting hat. Even though my head measures medium, I knew from the reviews I needed to go a size larger and it was the right decision.

ReplyDeleteIt arrived quickly as decribed. I have a big head to degree that when hats say 'one size fits all' the usually don't fit me. so it's tricky for me to find hats. this was a great purchase for me.
