Great Rubies Costume Nun Adult
I purchased this for Halloween along with a Priest costume . I was not sure which I was going to be and also, I figured, it would not hurt to have an extra costume on hand in case another friend was out of ideas and needed something to wear.
Well, I received both less than a few days apart . At a small part y with my closest friends, I tried on both and the overwhelming response was to wear this one.
I can gratifyingly say IT WAS A VERY BIG HIT at all of the part ies I attended that night. I went to four different Halloween part ies and had my picture taken at least 50 times as the night progressed.
I wore it plain, as it does come with some funny headbands (NUN FOR YOU, NUN OF YOUR BUSINESS etc.). I also enhanced it with a set of rosary beads and a cross I had gotten from my grandmother.
The costume is very light, so it is excellent to wear over regular clothing. This way, if you want to go to the part y and put it on at the last minute you can do so with ease.
That being said, the material is of sheer nylon (no, you cannot see through it) and the headdress is easy to take on and off. It appears to be machine washable, but because I wore regular clothing underneath it the one night that I wore it, I simply hung it outside for a few hours to get all of the cigarette smoke (the part ies I went to were at four bars in the same neighborhood (Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea) within walking distance of where I was staying) out of it.
It looks very authentic and I would highly recommend purchasing it if you do not intent to wear it often.

I used this for a play and it worked well. It was lightweight, but all the parts were realistic enough to be believable.
ReplyDeleteI bought several of these for an office Halloween party and we had the most fun with them. I actually had one lady think I was a real nun! The fit was good,l although mine was long for me, I just cut the bottom off and used that material to make a belt so it was fitted at the waist. Worked out great, and made for a fun time at work!

ReplyDeleteI wore this costume to a charity event and while walking to and from the event, I had people stop and ask me if they could get my picture with them. They thought I was a real nun. The actual event involved me swimming in seawater for an extended period of time and this costume not only held up, but I'll be wearing it to the same event again next year. This is a great value and a purchase I would recommend.
ReplyDeleteI bought this for my 10 year-old daughter to wear for Halloween and was pleased with the fast delivery and authenticity of the item. Would prefer the costume come with a cross necklace as well (to complete the ensemble). Thought the price was reasonable.

This costume was perfect. Easy to throw on and the headgear stayed put. I threw on a costume jewelry big cross necklace(from the halloween dept. at the discount store) It was great. Funny thing...I went to pull a smaller hard cover black book off the shelf to carry as my 'bible' and saw a novel called "Faithless". I took the jacket off it and it was all black! And the best part is that it said Faithless down the spine. Perfect book to carry as a halloween nun. Great deal for the inexpensive price. I even paid for two-day shipping and it was still worth the total cost. Can use it again sometime.
