I love Little Voice Sara Bareilles
Little Voice by Sara Bareilles is one of the best albums of 2007 in my opionion. Bareilles's voice is anything but little, her voice is powerful and rich. She is even a better songwriter, no silly pop fluff here, deep and meaningful lyrics. This album is produced by Eric Rosse (he used to date Tori Amos) he really gets to the heart and importance of this album. I cannot tell you how much I love Bareilles's vocals, she gives me chills. Every track is unique and different, the first single Love Song is catchy and addictive. The best song on the album is Gravity, the way she holds that second to the last note is stunning. My fave track is Come Round Soon, I can't get this song out of my head! Her voice reminds me a little of PJ Harvey especially on the track, Between the Lines and Fiona Apple on Many the Miles. Hopefully this album will make Sara a huge star, she deserves it! Great singer, pianist, and lyricst. I highly recommend this rock/pop gem!

ReplyDeleteI am a little unsure about what I should sing for an audition for an a cappella group that sings modern music. My range is from C3 to G5 and I'm generally placed as an alto because of my low range. I have sung things by Sara Bareilles, Carol King, and Judy Garland so I guess you could base suggestions off of that. I'm looking for an a cappella solo, and I'm up for anything!!!
ReplyDeleteListening back to some of my recordings, i noticed times when i cant tell if im having vibrato or an unsupported and shakey voice. What is the difference between having a nice vibrato and having an uncontrolled voice?
ReplyDeleteShe's my favorite female vocalist, and I love her debut album, but I'm ready for a sophomore album...any details about release dates?
