I love Cinema Secrets Spirit Remover Combo
The reviews I have read hailing Kiri Te Kanawa's performance were fully justified. She has a beautiful voice which she uses to effortlessly explore the full range of Mozart 's The Marriage of Figaro.
I would rate the overall sound quality a 4, considering the cast as a whole did not fully enunciate as loud as the accompanying orchestra. Other nitpicky things: The recitatives were overly fast, as if they were trying to rush through to the next song, and I thought Frederica von Stade was a bit too feminine for the part of Cherubino (yes, it's a female part playing a young boy, but again, that's my opinion).
The chemistry of the duets was exceptional. I part icularly enjoyed the Countess and Susanna singing the song to the air. Te Kanawa and Cotrubas sounded especially inspired. Again, the word "effortless" seems appropriate for such a beautiful performance.
The Marriage of Figaro is by far my favorite opera, and this is the third performance I have bought on DVD. Having worn out the DVD of the first performance I bought, I had to get different ones to appreciate the variations in other performances. And being resistant to change, I am always surprised when I prefer a subsequent performance to a previously viewed one. It is easy to see though, why this 30+ year old performance still retains a high demand with viewers. In short, it is a welcome addition to my collection, and I highly recommend it.

ReplyDeleteI used this spirit gum to attach a monocle to my face for 3 different anime conventions. It does take a little bit of time for the product to dry and stick, but when it does, it stays in place VERY well. I would advise that everyone should try to use the remover liquid itself when trying to take off whatever it is that you are wearing, since I didn't do that and my skin on my face was irritated for a couple of days.

Item ad described, came by date promised. Got the job done I needed it for. Small package, but goes a long way.
ReplyDeleteThis product is a very strong product. This can b either a good thing if the right amount is used, or a bad thing for sensative skin and sensative 2 smells. The smell of this product is very strong! Its a strong kind of unpleasant peppermint smell that yu'll smell ALL night long! I used this 2 put rhinestones on my facet for halloween, the glue was strong and not one rhinestone fell! The smell is what sucks but overall, it served its purpose.
ReplyDeleteThis stuff is AMAZING! Works really well! I went to Sakura-Con in 2007 and cos-played as Grimmjow, and used it on a mask for my jaw like he has (which was made out of cardboard and newspaper with paper mache, so it wasn't really heavy), but just make sure you put it on and then really hold it wherever you are attaching something and after about 30 mins I'd say, it's completely stuck on. If you put it on and then start messing with it, it will take longer to dry and you'll have to wait, but once it's stuck on, its on and taking it off is no problem. I was able to just slowly take it off my face and then just got rid of the excess with the remover provided and a napkin.
ReplyDeleteFantastic product that was exceptionally easy to use. They worked great to apply, hold, and later remove the ear tips that I bought for the premiere of The Hobbit. Very easy even for an amateur.
ReplyDeleteI work at a haunted trail every Halloween, and this product was awesome. I have always had trouble with my prosthetic pieces coming loose because of sweat and all the fake blood, but this product never budged. It never lifted at the edges and did not irritate my skin like some other products do. The remover was great, but don't try to remove this product without it, it will not be pleasant.
ReplyDeleteI was concerned about the little one pulling on Santa's beard at a family Christmas party, but the glue held up very well. The clean up was easy.
ReplyDeleteIt does just what it says it will do. It sticks on whatever you want and it comes off easy with the remover. Great Product!
