I'm Happy after buyingThis My Only Regret ebook
"My Only Regret" is a poem by Demetri O. Sahagun. This was a Kindle download of 44 Kbs and was free at the time of writing this review.
Let me me honest, I didn't know this was a poem when I decided to download it...I didn't check it out by downloading a free sample. I'm continually scanning the Kindle store for the works of new authors...I have found some incredibly good downloads available there. I saw this work offered (it was short and free) so i decided to try it on a whim.
Also let me state my knowledge of poetry and its appreciation is limited at best.
I would guess this to be a free form poem...many stanzas, of anywhere between 2 to 8 or more lines of prose, with no particular rhyme scheme.
This is a poem about AIDS and a person ravaged from its effects. The true focal point is not readily apparent at the beginning...the message of the poem tends to permeates one's consciousness slowly and with a certain subtlety.
The cover art...initially I considered ugly and unfocused (which it is). However, I looked at it again after I'd read this work for a second time...at which point the cover seem to perfectly convey the true essence of this short work.
Despite my limited knowledge of poetry I enjoyed this work...a second or third reading seemed to reveal a greater depth then I had first perceived.
Conclusion:
A short poem discussing AIDS...well done.
As it is...5 Stars
