Great Revealing Eden Save Pearls Part
Got this book over the weekend and read it in two days! It's such a page turner and so fast paced, I literally could not put it down.
Really good stuff! It's a fun read but there is also a lot of substance to it, and some very compelling and important themes addressed as well, such as loyalty, race, and most of all, love.
The premise itself is awesome and super unique. Revealing Eden takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where people with darker skin, nicknamed "Coals", rule the Eart h and oppress all of the lighter skinned races, part icularly those with lighter skin, called the "Pearls". Because of limited resources, the governing body, called the Uni-Gov, implements population control, forcing all the races to mate by the time they turn 18 or be killed or left out in the Heat to die. The main character, Eden, is a Pearl and her 18th birthday is fast approaching. Her father is a mad scientist who is working on the possible antidote that could be a salvation to all Pearls, if not the entire world. He is sponsored by Bronson Ramford, a wealthy, powerful Coal who Eden doesn't trust in the least, and in fact, views as her enemy. But things get extremely confusing and complicated when she start s having emotions for this supposed enemy, something she never even dreamt could happen.
Eden is one of the most relatable characters I've ever read. You understand why she's bitter at the beginning and then get to witness her growth into an empowered female. Even though she exists in a very different world than we do, she struggles with the same issues that all teens do at her age. She wants to find her own identity, acceptance, and deep down, though she thinks she doesn't believe in it, she wants to find true love. The setting of the book is really amazing, with great detailed descriptions that drew me in. I could've read about it all day long. The author really makes it very entertaining to read this, and I usually do not like romantic stories.
Revealing Eden is a great post apocalyptic book. I hope the sequel and other installments lives up to it!
