After seeing this, my husband remarked, "So...'Les Miserables' refers to EVERYBODY."
I have doubts about the wisdom of adapting successful music als to the big screen. IMO, the art ificiality of the music al form is better suited to the art ificiality of the stage . There are exceptions, of course. Les Miserables is one, though I must confess there were a couple of times I found myself wishing for a non-music al version with the same cast. The sheer intensity of the acting carries this movie. Hugh Jackman's Jean Valjean and Anne Hathaway's Fantine are simply stunning. The steely integrity of Russell Crowe's underplayed Javert rings true as he pursues Jean Valjean to uphold the letter of the law. Lesser acting would have made this movie cringe-worthy. As it is, it's a must-see. Tissues required. It's been a long time since I've seen a finale as rousing and awesome as this.
Others can debate the various merits of voices, range, music ality and production values. I'd say see this. It's one of the world's greatest stories.
Great hat for the price. found one at walmart for way more but was not as well made nor as nice.
ReplyDeleteI picked this up as little more than a joke for a costume. It fits me well and looks surprisingly good for how inexpensive it was. I'm seriously considering using it regularly rather than as a costume piece.
ReplyDeleteMy son-in-laws got a kick out of this hat. 3 of them have worn them throughout events last year, even to a wedding! Surprisingly good quality for a small price. A lot of fun for the guys.

ReplyDeleteI paid six bucks for this hat and it's well worth the price! I have a rather large head and it fits me perfectly - inside the hat it says size L/XL. It's not the best quality in the world but I wanted it for keeping my head dry in a light rain and I think it will do that quite well. Looks good on me, too!
ReplyDeletebought this for my nephew's ninth birtdhay. He wanted a black fedora. I never got to see the actual hat, but my sister says it was the favorite present. Heard that it fits him great and is very stylish. For the price, you can't beat it. My nephew has a relatively big head, but still, I don't know if this would fit adults. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteI ordered this hat at the last minute for my son who wanted to wear it to the prom with his tuxedo... I was skeptical that it might not be good quality and might be too small due to other comments... however.. I couldn't be more pleased! The quality is fantastic.. the color is rich black (the picture does not do the color justice).. the shape is prefect.. and most importantly, it is the right size for his head and we received it on time! I would definitely recommend this fedora!
ReplyDeleteThis hat was just as a i expected from other reviews! Great hat, fits nicely on most people. i Ordered them for my drill team (21 girls) and they fit well enough to perform in. Good quality too! I highly recommend!

ReplyDeleteThe quality is surprisingly good considering the rock bottom price. No it doesn't compete with a $400 hat, but it's well made and looks good. I would consider this more of a "Trilby" (what I actually wanted) than a "Fedora" as the brim and band are quite narrow.
The very low cost worried me that I'd be buying junk that wouldn't fit. I guess I got lucky and received a fairly good hat which fits okay. It was certainly worth the gamble. I'm quite pleased.
